Selling a bunch of costumes to clean up my closet and earn a little money to start paying bills. I did a huge price break on them - never worn D.gray-man costume bought for $180.00 is only 80-90 right now, and my Drizella cosplay, which cost well over $330.00 to make, is only $120.00!

Just over a week left! Hope you all are fairing well progress-wise and aren’t pulling out your hair! Me? I’m doing the opposite. Tonight I’m continuing ventilating a wig… ah hah.
^ So yes, in these last remaining days, let’s all avoid moments like this.

I often use this to help me remember when/where I wore costumes. Like “What did I wear to Otakon 2010?? I forget!” This is more-or-less a reference for myself, lmao.

Well, mostly I’m making pro bender Mako with discordantkettle as Bolin, and Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians. But I am REALLY excited for both of these, so I’m looking forward to NYCC a lot. C:

As for an answer, not before 2013, and most likely Katsucon is not an option (I have my hands full enough for that con as it is…). LET’S MAKE PLANS. <3
Life and Cosplay are Fickle and Stressful
I’m starting to use my better judgment and reconsidering making Origami Cyclone for Otakon… The main reason is not having enough time to devote to making a kickass Hero Suit, especially when there are other things I want to make for AnimeNext/Otakon (and then there’s life, too). If I do decide to postpone Origami, I would plan to wear it to Katsucon 2013 (which I was planning to wear to anyway). This would give me much more time to really make everything as best as I can, and not trying to jam it in 3 months— which since I would only be able to sew on the weekends, I know I’d be very unhappy/stressed out the entire summer. I’ll still work on it over the summer, but I won’t have to LIVE AND BREATHE it.
I REALLY wanted to have it for Otakon, I guess out of pure excitement for Tiger & Bunny, and also I think the architecture there would be good for pictures, but— I also am foreseeing DYING OF HEAT. Body covered head to toe in vinyl?? I already did that once at Otakon, and although the suit will have comfy spandex underneath, still not seeming like the greatest idea. (I figured I’d only be able to wear it for a few hours, in that case). So I was worried about that from the start as well… (I’ll still wear Ivan to Ota regardless)
It’s just so disappointing to push back cosplay plans. We are all so addicted to this hobby that we often get in over our heads. And I’m someone who can’t take back something once I set my mind on it. But I just have too many interest and my full time job makes it nearly impossible to do anything I like… I also fear working my ass off all summer and still not being done— then all the rushed work was for nothing!

Also, I keep having sudden urges to cosplay new characters! DON’T DO THAT, SELF. I already caved in with Mako, hahah. But now very suddenly this morning I am highly considering Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians. WHY, ME? WHY DO? I know I can rock the white hair! And although I kind of dislike when people cosplay things before the series/game/whatever is released, I may end up doing it anyway….
SHOOT ME PLEASE.
Now, off to picking up my repaired sewing machine and then Joanns for fabric for Mako. WHAT IS MY LIFE.
